How I write my music and what I want my new music to be about.
I'm finally writing music again, I plucked up the courage and now I'm doing it. I recently bought a new Macbook (which I'm so glad I did because my old one was really annoying me!) and with it, I added the packages of Logic Pro (GarageBand but more grownup) and Final Cut Pro (like iMovie more grownup), I was so scared of using Logic Pro at first as GarageBand is the only instrument I have ever truly mastered, but now that I've written a song or 2 on Logic, it feels easier. I outgrew GarageBand, or at least it outgrew me. I needed Logic and I am so happy I made the leap.
This blog post isn't just for me to vent about my new music (which I've been dying to talk to you all about!), this is to help you make your own music and show you my personal method of writing. This is for the future musicians and people who want to move into this industry. Most of these tips corespond with both apps but I have underlined which one I'm mostly speaking about because there are some differences.
How I write my music - GarageBand
This method is what I have always used so I hope you like it! I first start out listening to many 'Live Loops' (on GarageBand or Logic Pro) until I find one that I can sing along to. I then begin filling the sound (say a piano for example or synth) with a bass guitar, some drums (normally I would choose the pre-set drum set as it would go with the existing loops tempo and sound). I then loop all sounds together and move them around depending where I want them to go, I record vocals as I go along to write the lyrics. That's it! I always use ChatGPT for writing the lyrics, and by this I mean helping me write them. Say I can't remember the describing word for describing how my anxiety feels in my head with medical anxiety, I look it up on ChatGPT.

I hope this has helped all you budding musicians, I can't wait to show you some of my newest creations, all coming 2026.
Love you all, Gracie xx
